The very slight slope of the tee box may result in an unintentional draw shot for your drive! Watch out for the Waikato river on your left and tall pine trees all along the right ridge. A fade will be kicked back by the hill onto the fairway. Beginners love this hole because their slice will suddenly disappear! Longer hitters need to watch out for the ditch marked by red markers at 230M on the left. The club gets its name from this hole which has a very Narrow fairway

The club actually gets its name from it being located on the narrowest part of the Waikato River, the fairway does open up to the left well short of the green however the approach from the left is graded by a number of trees. Any tee shot too far right will get stuck on the hill any you are staring double bogy in the face. Advice: 3 iron/hybrid off the tee for position leaving a easy 8/9 iron into the green. One of the best thinking holes on the course.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the strategy for this hole. Apparently you have played here for a while too.
